Stop repeating the same argument.
Start understanding each other.
When communication breaks down, even small conversations can become tense, defensive or painful.
You may still love each other deeply, but feel as though you are no longer being heard, understood or considered.
Couples coaching gives you a structured and practical space to identify what is keeping the relationship stuck, communicate more effectively and make meaningful changes.
This is direct, action-focused coaching.
I will help you understand what is happening between you, but I will also challenge the behaviours, communication habits and repeated patterns that are preventing progress.
Sessions are available online worldwide and in person across Sitges and the Barcelona area.
All sessions are delivered in English.
Does this feel familiar?
You have the same arguments repeatedly, but nothing ever feels resolved.
One person wants to talk, while the other withdraws or shuts down.
Conversations quickly become defensive, emotional or hostile.
You no longer feel listened to, valued or understood.
Affection, intimacy or emotional connection has reduced.
Trust has been damaged.
Work, family, financial pressure or major life changes are affecting the relationship.
Your priorities, expectations or plans for the future no longer feel aligned.
One or both of you avoids important conversations because you already know how they will end.
You care about each other, but you are unsure how to move forward.
You may even be questioning whether the relationship can continue.
These difficulties do not necessarily mean that your relationship is over. They may mean that your current way of communicating is no longer helping either of you feel secure, understood or connected.
This is not about deciding
who is right
Couples coaching is not about assigning blame or proving that one partner is right and the other is wrong.
My role is to work with both of you, identify what is keeping the relationship stuck and challenge the behaviours or communication patterns that are preventing progress.
Both partners will have the opportunity to speak and be heard, but both must also be prepared to reflect honestly on their own behaviour.
I will not allow one person to dominate the conversation, repeatedly interrupt the other or avoid responsibility by placing all the blame on their partner.
The aim is not to avoid difficult conversations. It is to help you have them more honestly, calmly and productively.
What couples coaching can help you with
Couples coaching can help you:
Understand the patterns behind repeated arguments
Communicate without immediately becoming defensive
Express your feelings and needs more clearly
Listen to understand rather than preparing your response
Recognise each other’s emotional needs
Take greater responsibility for your own reactions
Manage disagreements more calmly
Address avoidance, withdrawal or dismissive communication
Rebuild consideration, affection and emotional connection
Address trust issues
Agree on clearer expectations and boundaries
Navigate different priorities or future plans
Repair communication after conflict
Make more honest and informed decisions about the future of the relationship
Every couple is different. The focus of your sessions will be based on what is happening within your relationship and what you both want to change.
My approach to couples coaching
My approach is direct, honest and practical.
Couples coaching with me is not simply a space to talk about your relationship.
I will listen carefully, but I will also interrupt unproductive patterns, ask direct questions and give honest feedback when I believe something needs to change.
I create a balanced environment where both people can speak openly, but neither person is protected from taking responsibility for their behaviour.
I may challenge:
Defensiveness
Avoidance
Repeated interruptions
Dismissive communication
Blaming
Emotional withdrawal
Attempts to control the conversation
Unwillingness to listen
Behaviours that leave one partner feeling ignored or unimportant
I will not take sides, shame either partner or pressure you towards a particular decision.
However, remaining neutral does not mean remaining silent.
If I notice a behaviour or communication pattern that is damaging the relationship, I will address it clearly and directly.
My role is to help both of you recognise what needs to change and turn that understanding into practical action.
Looking beneath
the argument
Couples often become so focused on the subject of an argument that they lose sight of the emotional pattern underneath it.
You may appear to be arguing about time, money, work, family, intimacy or household responsibilities.
Underneath the argument, however, one person may feel:
Unimportant
Rejected
Controlled
Ignored
Unsupported
Taken for granted
Unable to do anything right
Uncertain about their place in the relationship
Identifying the deeper issue does not excuse hurtful behaviour.
It helps explain why certain subjects become so emotionally charged and why the same disagreement keeps returning.
Once you understand the pattern, you can begin to respond differently.
I am Will Phillips, a relationship and energy transformation coach based in Sitges, Barcelona.
I help people understand the emotional patterns, beliefs and relationship dynamics that keep them feeling stuck. My approach is warm, honest and practical. I will support you without judgement while also helping you face the changes that may be necessary to create a happier and healthier life.
As a gay man and an expat myself, I understand how loneliness, relationships and rebuilding your life can feel particularly complicated when you are living away from familiar support networks.
The Reset is not about telling you how to live. It is about helping you understand yourself more clearly, trust your own judgement and take meaningful steps forward.
Why work with me?
You do not have to remain stuck
There is no obligation to join The Reset after the call.
